Listed incorrectly in Olpin, Seifrit, and Swanson’s “Artists of Utah” as “Charles Lyndon Winterlyn”.
Charles Lyndon Waterlyn, born August 6, 1901 Santaquin, Utah, died, Salt Lake City, Utah on, May 18, 1988. Buried in the Payson, Utah cemetery. His parents were Charles Waterlyn (1874 - 1923) and Adella Richmond Waterlyn (1881 - 1972). His father’s parents were Swedish.
Charles Lyndon Waterlyn painting during his off duty hours as a guard at a Salt Lake plant. Examples of his work found on Ancestry.com are similar in nature to the painting in our collection, which are mountain landscapes, usually with trees, rivers, etc. in the mid and foreground.
